Regulatory Compliance
OALO is designed to meet all requirements of EASA Part-FCL (FCL.050) and UK CAA regulations for pilot personal flight time records.
EASA FCL.050 Compliance
Our digital logbook system complies with EASA Part-FCL requirements for recording flight time:

The pilot shall maintain a reliable record of the details of all flights flown, in a form and manner established by the competent authority.
OALO provides:
- All required columns as specified in AMC1 FCL.050
- Accurate time recording in UTC
- Proper categorisation of flight time (PIC, SIC, PICUS, Dual, etc.)
- Night time calculation based on official civil twilight
- Running totals and page summaries
- Countersignature capability for PICUS flights
- Export to official EASA format PDF
UK CAA Compliance
For UK licence holders, OALO meets the requirements set out by the UK CAA for personal flying logbooks, including:
- Recording of all flights as required by ANO
- Proper documentation of flight time categories
- Support for countersigning requirements
- Export formats suitable for licence applications and renewals
Data Integrity
We maintain data integrity through:
- Audit trails - All changes to flight records are logged
- Immutable records - Confirmed flights cannot be silently modified
- Amendment tracking - Any corrections are recorded with timestamps
- Export verification - Exported PDFs include verification checksums
- Backup systems - Regular automated backups ensure data preservation
Verification Process
When pilots import flights via email:
- Flights are marked as "Pending Review" until the pilot confirms accuracy
- Pilots must verify and approve each flight before it's added to their logbook
- The original import source is recorded for reference
- Pilots can add remarks and corrections as needed
GDPR & Data Protection
OALO is fully GDPR compliant:
- Data is processed lawfully with user consent
- Users can access, export, or delete their data at any time
- Data is stored securely within the EU/UK
- We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures
- Privacy policy clearly explains data handling
